Savchenko's lawyer denounced the charges in court
Lawyers for deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, suspected of preparing terrorist attacks in the capital of Ukraine, tore to smithereens the arguments of the Prosecutor General's Office.
At a meeting of the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kiev, one of the lawyers drew attention to the fact that, according to the indictment, the “combat crew” consisting of Savchenko and the previously detained volunteer Vladimir Ruban was supposed to simultaneously undermine the Verkhovna Rada from the inside, as well as conduct mortar attacks on the government quarter, simultaneously shooting people from machine guns and pistols.
“During the presence of the President of Ukraine, people’s deputies of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, government and public figures, Savchenko and Ruban, two of them, I remind you, are at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, taking a mortar. How many crew should a mortar have? Twelve people are taken for one mortar. A grenade launcher, a pipe is loaded onto the shoulder and a firearm. At the same time, they load shells, shoot and use firearms at the same time...
They are shelling buildings in the government quarter, namely the buildings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the presidential administration, and residential buildings located on the indicated and parallel streets.
That is, a person simultaneously uses firearms, grenade launchers and mortars to shoot at several objects at the same time.
At the same time, I quote, with the use of grenades - I don’t understand how this can be physically imagined - they carry out explosions inside the building. If grenades are thrown 50 meters, then they must be in the Verkhovna Rada.
It’s hard for me to imagine how Savchenko and Ruban, this two-person combat team, implement this plan. Everyone should clearly imagine what Nadezhda Savchenko is accused of,” the lawyer said.
