Journalist Vyshinsky's lawyer appealed his arrest
The defense filed an appeal against the arrest of RIA Novosti-Ukraine editor-in-chief Kirill Vyshinsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by Vyshinsky’s lawyer Andrei Domansky.
“I have now sent a letter by mail, and tomorrow the appeal will be filed directly with the court office,” the lawyer said.
On May 15, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the office of RIA Novosti-Ukraine.
Later it became known that the head of RIA Novosti-Ukraine was informed of suspicion of committing a crime.
He was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Art. 111 (Treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On May 17, the Kherson City Court chose a preventive measure for Vyshinsky in the form of detention for a period of 2 months.
Vyshinsky's arrest caused a wave of protests among journalists in the Russian Federation.
