He stated this at a briefing broadcast by the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“We are seeing enormous pressure from the law enforcement system and the judicial system, which comes both in the form of hints and direct offers to clients to continue cooperation through relevant political cases. The risks associated with these cases, which we have announced, have increased for the defense, and the consequence of each such interrogation is only an increase in the risks for the defense, because the questions are inconvenient, the witness will never hear such questions on the street. This leads to dissatisfaction with our work on the part of witnesses,” he said.
Earlier, Yanukovych’s lawyers stated that the authorities were trying to remove them from the process “at any cost.”
The Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv continues to consider the merits of the case of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, accused of “high treason.” At the end of 2017, the court decided to question a number of witnesses for the prosecution, in particular, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy were already questioned.
