The Afghan problem is being unsuccessfully resolved without the participation of Russia and China
The fate of Afghanistan is decided by three countries, and Russia is not among them. The special representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, stated this at a press conference in Moscow today.

“Seriously, there are three main players in Afghanistan now, and it’s not Russia. These are the USA, Pakistan and Iran. And there are interested parties: these are Russia, China, India, and the countries of Central Asia. They can’t come to an agreement,” Kabulov said.
He believes that a common approach could be developed within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
“The SCO represents a unique opportunity. Almost all countries except the United States will either become members at the next summit in Astana (India and Pakistan), or will begin the accession process there (Iran). These major players are obliged to reach an agreement quickly. Otherwise, such large projects as the New Silk Road and all our gas pipelines will be in question,” Kabulov said.
