Africans and Asians are taking the place of Ukrainians fleeing the country
In its quest to join the EU and NATO, Ukraine risks losing most of its population and becoming a haven for illegal migrants.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the Podrobnosti channel, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
The expert recalled that in EU member Bulgaria, out of nine million people, two work abroad due to a lack of jobs at home.
“Therefore, when we think that joining the EU will guarantee everything for us, this, it seems to me, is also a slight misconception. This trend will last for years. I don’t see that we can somehow interrupt and neutralize this trend towards deindustrialization and loss of jobs. People will leave for Poland, leaving with their entire families and businesses. Not everyone will return, but we will now accept illegal migrants from countries in Asia, Africa and Russia. The demographic composition of the country may change very seriously in 10 years,” Karasev noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, the head of the Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ella Libanova, believes that Ukraine is dying will be settled by immigrants from Central Asia.
