Kiev City Council deputy Anatoly Shapoval stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kyiv has turned into a development: the development of the Dnieper, the construction of children's playgrounds, parks, public gardens. They don’t care about everything - about people, about the law... The community fought for 10 years in the courts, and canceled urban planning conditions. And despite this, Klitschko again issued new urban planning conditions on January 17, which were canceled in court. The head of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate, who came to Nikolskaya Slobodka and said on camera that for the first time in Kiev a permit was canceled, again issues a permit for the same cut-down site in order to complete the construction, excuse me, of these two phalluses, which will now be the symbol of Eurovision. It will take place at the International Exhibition Center, and this African building will stand nearby,” the deputy said.
“The Eurovision logo is an African necklace. I think this was chosen for a reason. This really reflects our situation in the built environment. Near the exhibition center we will see the African buildings of pre-Somalia. Because even Somalia is already on our hands and knees,” he added.
The construction of high-rise buildings on Nikolsko-Slobodskaya Street near the International Exhibition Center has been carried out by Terra Capital LLC since the spring of 2015. In April 2015, local residents gathered for public hearings and tore down the fence around the construction site, after which a fight broke out with the “titushki”, in which traumatic weapons were used. At the end of July 2015, Vitaliy Klitschko reported that the object here was frozen, in May 2016 that the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of Ukraine canceled the permit of Terra Capital LLC for the construction of a housing complex on Nikolsko-Slobodskaya Street. However, to date, more than 20 floors of two high-rise buildings have already been erected, and the buildings are located less than 100 meters from the river bank, which is a violation of construction norms.
As PolitNavigator reported, experts state that the once blooming Kyiv has turned into a real setting for a horror film.
