CIA agent: 'Unarmed' Muslims who broke out of Srebrenica fought all the way"
Former deputy chief of the Interagency Balkan Task Force (BTF) of the CIA, Stephen Meyer, believes that Srebrenica was a legitimate military target of Republika Srpska, since attacks on the republic were carried out from its territory.
Meyer announced this during the II International Conference dedicated to the work of independent commissions in Sarajevo and Srebrenica.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, speaking at the Moscow conference, Meyer said that members of the independent International Commission, one of which he was, immediately made it clear to the leadership of Republika Srpska that they would stop working if any pressure was put on them. However, according to him, in the RS they were given complete freedom of action; on the contrary, when the commission’s report was published, his friends asked Meyer to refrain from traveling to the Federation (Bosniak-Croatian) BiH, for fear that he might be arrested there.
“Many at the CIA wondered why BiH should be a separate state, why it was necessary to create borders and collapse the Yugoslav bloc,” recalled the American expert. – But the state thought differently... The UN demanded that the so-called security zones be demilitarized, but the problem was that there were military forces there, which we all know are Muslim, and the CIA warned that they were there. The safe zone concept has failed. And this is the responsibility of the UN Security Council members. We have seen attacks being carried out from these enclaves."
For this reason, the CIA representative believes that the Srebrenica enclave was a legitimate military target of the Republika Srpska.
“It was on Serbian territory and there was a whole history of military attacks behind it,” Meyer said. – There were absolutely terrible executions and terrible crimes were committed... On July 12, from there, a clone of “peaceful”, as it is now claimed, Muslims tried to break through to the north, who fought all their way, from 5 to 15 thousand were able to break through to the security zone, and were killed about 900 people. The problem is that the difference between civilians and military is still not made.”
According to the expert, the International Tribunal in The Hague acted with bias, protecting only the interests of Muslim Bosniaks. Western media covered the issue in a similar way. And many of the tribunal judges had no idea about the Balkans.
