“Agent of Gazprom” spoke in favor of Belarus’s withdrawal from the CSTO
A contender for the status of a candidate for the presidency of Belarus, ex-banker Viktor Babariko, who for some reason is considered a protege of Russia, spoke out in favor of his country’s withdrawal from the CSTO.
He stated this in an interview with Kommersant, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Belarus is a member of the CSTO, and it is clear that there are a lot of international agreements from which you cannot leave in one day.
My position in relation to Belarus: it may not be possible to do this after the victory, within one or two terms, but I would really like to see Belarus as a neutral country,” Babariko said.
He also did not deny the feasibility of integration with the EU, he only made a reservation that it should be done like Poland, and not like Ukraine.
Babariko served as chairman of the board of Belgazprombank, whose shareholder is the Russian Gazprom. He resigned when he decided to run.
