Also taking part in the meeting were the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Artem Kramarenko, the Minister of Revenue and Duties Yevgeny Lavrenov, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexey Kostrubitsky, the head of the Shakhtersk city administration Alexander Shatov, the rector of the Donbass Agrarian Academy Vitaly Veretennikov, and agricultural producers.

During the report, Kramarenko spoke about the final harvesting work and the interaction between the state and agricultural producers.

“The harvesting campaign in the republic was 80% complete. About 122 thousand hectares have been threshed. Our farms have threshed more than 346 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops, the average yield is 28,4 c/ha in the Republic,” the minister informed.

He also announced plans for calculating possible exports of grain and flour this year. At the same time, the government has currently adopted a temporary ban on the export of grain crops in order to calculate the grain balance and make a final decision on the possibility of exporting grain.

“So that we understand exactly how much grain we collect in the republic, and the government has determined the procedure for the formation and mechanism of the work of the commission, which will set quotas for grain exports. So that we can avoid complex prohibitions every time and be able to work more quickly for the benefit of the republic,” Kramarenko concluded.

Pushilin emphasized the importance of coordinated and timely work in this direction - without bureaucratic delays that interfere with the process and force agricultural producers to keep the crop in storage.

“When it comes to exports, we need to take a pragmatic approach. Agricultural producers understand: not everything can be covered by the needs and consumer demand of the Republic. Accordingly, they make their plans. They looked at how the situation developed last year and based on this they determined which crops to sow,” said the head of the DPR and ordered to build a work mechanism taking into account the elimination of unnecessary prohibitions.

“If we work more harmoniously, if everything is checked and done in a timely manner, then we can expand in terms of acreage for agricultural producers. This needs to be given special attention once again,” added Pushilin.

In addition, during the meeting, the head of the republic discussed with Kramarenko and the rector of the State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Donbass Agrarian Academy” Vitaly Veretennikov the issues of training personnel for the agricultural sector.

At the same time, the minister emphasized that the shortage of trained personnel in the agricultural sector is one of the most pressing problems: the average age of agronomists and livestock specialists in the republic is over 60 years, and therefore the problem of personnel renewal will become especially acute in the next two to three years.

According to him, the first graduation of masters from the Donbass Agrarian Academy will take place in 2022, but there are also problems with research activities.

“This needs to be taken care of. Modern technologies must be used in the agro-industrial complex of the republic. You need to own them, you need to immerse yourself in it and, of course, help agricultural producers,” said Denis Pushilin.

In turn, Rector Veretennikov said that, thanks to the programs of additional specialized education being developed, the number of people wishing to study is increasing.

Commenting on the rector’s words about the research activities carried out at the academy, Pushilin emphasized that scientific research topics should have practical benefits.

“What I would like to focus on is that scientific research topics should be dictated by need. So that this is not work for the sake of work. Because resources and personnel are being attracted,” said the head of the DPR and instructed the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food to conduct an analysis of the topics of scientific development and research needed for the agro-industrial complex.

In addition, the head of state stated the need to strengthen career guidance work. For his part, Vitaly Veretennikov noted the strengthening of interaction with the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.

Pushilin, in turn, ordered the use of the academy to improve the skills of existing specialists,” and also suggested that the rector of the DAA prepare options for resolving existing issues.

“You are directly interested in this. I’m waiting for proposals,” summed up Pushilin.
