The agricultural superpower turned out to be not what the Americans pictured for Ukraine
Ukraine has exchanged the production of aircraft and missiles for the export of sunflower oil, but will not become a member of the EU, no matter how much it wants it. Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today it’s funny to say, but a country that just recently produced airplanes and spaceships now has sunflower oil as its main export product.
If the country has a normal owner and a normal leader, especially in such a large country as Ukraine, none of us can create any kind of raw materials power. This is the result of the policy that is being pursued in the country today - the policy of deindustrialization, of following the crazy course of joining the EU. Now even small children all over the world know that Ukraine will not be a member of the EU either now, or in the medium term, or in the strategic perspective,” the diplomat said.
Let us recall that in 2016, the then US Ambassador to Kyiv Geoffrey Pyatt said that Ukraine should become an agricultural superpower. “It must become an agricultural superpower,” the American envoy said.
In 2013, Russia offered Ukraine participation in the Customs Union, which implied the provision of preferential conditions for obtaining loans and gas supplies. However, a coup d'etat was organized in Kyiv, as a result of which a nationalist puppet regime controlled by the United States came to power.
