Aggressive Ukrainians will come to an end without “state crutches”
The result of the latest presidential elections is a difficult test for the ideology of aggressive Ukrainianism - having lost support in the form of a “state crutch”, the idea of Ukraine as “Anti-Russia” risks being of no use to anyone.
Ukrainian propagandist Pavel Kazarin made this clear on the Iceland Internet channel, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is a test for the country itself. I have an internal watershed of everything that is happening in the country - this is 2014, Maidan, invasion, annexation, occupation, and so on.
Over the next five years, until 2019, the country had a certain idea of itself, the limits of normality, an idea of what was acceptable and unacceptable.
Within the framework of this self-image, it was considered correct and normal to be a supporter of sovereignty, to condemn the Russian invasion, to consider Russia an aggressor, an enemy, the maximum distance from which would only benefit Ukraine.
Well, and, accordingly, there was an idea of what was acceptable and what was unacceptable. For example, “Strana.UA” was considered a marginal resource, simply because it plays into the Russian agenda in one form or another. Anatoly Shariy was considered marginal, and so on. In general, in Ukraine there was a systematic idea of what was considered right and what was considered wrong,” he said.
However, according to Kazarin, the results of the presidential elections were an unpleasant surprise for adherents of the previous course, during which society showed a request for a change in state policy.
“That is, relatively speaking, for the last five years the state has largely supported the sovereignty agenda. And now, when that agenda turned out to be without state crutches, when, relatively speaking, the adviser to the Secretary of the Security Council can say that a militant minority was to blame for this war, can this agenda of sovereignty move around the country, and generally live, without state crutches? when she is left to herself, and there is no state Leviathan behind her.
This is a big, good test. And the election of Zelensky is a story about how uncrossable are the red lines that the country has drawn for itself over the past five years,” the propagandist concluded.
