According to the battalion's Facebook page, more than 2 Ukrainian soldiers were killed 30 hours before the start of the truce.
According to Aidar fighters, on Friday, September 5, two groups of the battalion moved to a checkpoint on the Metalist-Schastya section in the Lugansk region. Due to artillery shelling of the territory, the detachment had to retreat into the forest belt, and then the car with the soldiers drove towards Shchastya.
“There were 12 people in the car from the first group and 11 fighters from the second. Having passed the turn to Tsvetniye Pesi, after 1-1,5 km they arrived at a checkpoint at which the Ukrainian flag was flying. Terminator, as the group commander, got out of the car and approached the guard. To the guard’s question: “Who are they?” answered “We are Aidar.” "Aidar!" - the guard shouted and at the same time the entire checkpoint opened fire on the car of our fighters, - the Aidarovites claim.
“The body exploded and caught fire due to a hole in the gas tank and detonating ammunition. Many soldiers were wounded and burned. They went into the greenery and the field of sunflowers. One of our wounded soldiers reached the soldiers of the 80th brigade, who were marching in a column from Metalist, and told them about what had happened. The paratroopers rushed to the aid of the Aidarovites, flew into the checkpoint, and entered into battle. After 2 hours, the declared truce began,” the message said.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 8, the militia handed over the bodies of the dead soldiers to the battalion. An examination in Lugansk established that the remains belong to 33 people. "Aidar" managed to identify only five dead
