“Aidar” was destroyed: the fighters died or fled – people’s deputy

This was stated by the People's Deputy of Ukraine, the first battalion commander of "Aidar", who periodically still calls himself this, Sergei Melnichuk.
“Almost all the fighters who took part in the summer campaign, they are already outside the ATO zone or have already been fired or demobilized or wounded, are in hospitals. There, in the city of Shchastya, there was actually only one company left,” Melnichuk said on TV channel 112.
According to him, some fighters were convinced to move to another unit by promising social guarantees.
“They managed to break them by providing them with social guarantees there, they were bribed with this, and they moved to other military units, but the Aidar battalion, military unit 0624, is like a legend. He will remain military unit 0624, and military unit 2950 - he has no right to bear that name, because the soldiers left behind remained there. They came in the fall, and they were never attack aircraft, they will not be able to perform the functions that the actual assault battalion performed,” Melnichuk said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Melnichuk is being pressed by the Radical Party faction, under whose banner he was elected to the Rada, and whose faction he left.
