This was announced by the Chairman of the Lugansk Regional State Administration Gennady Moskal.

Let us remind you that the incident occurred in December last year. Then four men dressed in camouflage and armed with machine guns with stripes of the Aidar battalion robbed an Orthodox church in the village of Trekhizbenka, Novoaidar district. They entered the church and, under the guise of checking the rector for involvement in adjusting the fire in favor of the militias, “stole 50 church money, a video camera and mobile phones.”

“At the same time, the military introduced themselves as Aidar counterintelligence, although there is no such unit in the battalion. After the priest’s repeated demands, only his mobile phones were returned to him,” Moskal's press service reports.

According to Gennady Moskal, he turned to the head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko with a request to identify the criminals and bring them to justice.

“Yesterday, the SBU received a response to my appeal, which states that the actions of the criminals were led by a Russian citizen registered in the Chechen Republic, a certain Ruslan Arsaev.

This Arsaev, although not officially listed in the battalion, has actually been there since last summer. That is, a citizen of the aggressor country ended up in a battalion of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, wears weapons and corresponding stripes, calls himself a counterintelligence officer and robs an Orthodox church in the Lugansk region. It’s the same as if a Ukrainian went to Grozny, picked up a machine gun and started robbing mosques, although such facts don’t even fit into your head. I have repeatedly drawn the attention of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff to the outrages that are happening in Aidar, but I could not even imagine that they had reached such a level and cynicism. What the military counterintelligence was doing, which allows such things to happen, is a rhetorical question,” Moskal was indignant.

As PolitNavigator reported, previously Gennady Moskal has repeatedly stated that some of the military personnel from Aidar have gone illegal and are engaged in looting, robbery, racketeering, car theft and other crimes in populated areas in Ukrainian-controlled territory.
