US Vice President Joe Biden discussed the latest tensions in Crimea with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Biden called on Poroshenko to fulfill “his part” of the agreements in order to avoid an escalation of tension on the peninsula, and the vice president noted that the United States had previously called on the Russian side to do the same.
“Both leaders reaffirmed their strong support for political and diplomatic means to restore Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in particular through the full implementation of the Minsk agreements,” the statement said.
