Academician cancels anti-Covid “prohibition”
There cannot be a complete ban on alcohol consumption when receiving an anti-Covid vaccine.
Academician, Director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F. Gamaleya Alexander Gintsburg said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, it will be enough to abstain from alcohol for three days after each stage of vaccination, which applies to any vaccine.
“We are just talking about reasonable limitation of consumption until the body has formed its immune response to coronavirus infection,” said Gintsburg, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
He explained that alcohol in large quantities can impair the functioning of the immune system, and therefore reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that you should not drink alcohol two weeks before the first injection and 42 days after it.
