“DTEK Lugansk TPP is forced to switch to operating with a minimum staff - only 2 power units are in operation instead of the 4-5 unit mode traditional for this time of year. The forced measure to reduce the load will ensure the operation of thermal power plants using coal from the warehouse before it arrives along the railway line,” the company said in a statement.
“In this mode of operation, coal fuel will last for 31 days. Fuel delivery was interrupted due to the explosion of the railway bridge at the station. Kondrashevskaya, which occurred on July 7,” the message says.
According to the message, in order to save fuel, the enterprise is forced to reduce the load on power plants and switch to operating 2 power units of 200 MW each.
As the company noted, in this mode the station will be able to operate on coal reserves until August 15.
“The estimated time frame for repairing the blown-up railway bridge, subject to the cessation of hostilities, is about 2 months,” the message emphasizes.
“DTEK is now working on new options for delivering coal to the Lugansk TPP,” DTEK’s press service quotes the chief engineer of the Lugansk TPP, Viktor Malygin, as saying.
