According to the DTEK company, due to the lack of coal, the Pridneprovskaya TPP faces a complete shutdown: supplies from the ATO zone are blocked, and there are currently no other sources of fuel supply.
“On January 22, the coal supply at the Pridneprovskaya TPP will be completely exhausted. Today it is 3,5 thousand tons. The Ukrainian energy system may lose at least 150 MW per day. This means that about 500 thousand households may be left without electricity per day, and a third of Dnepropetrovsk residents may be left without heat,” the company said in a statement.
As the director of the Pridneprovskaya Thermal Power Plant Andrei Nikolaev said, if the Ministry of Fuel and Energy does not arrange fuel supplies in the near future, 300 thousand residents of Dnepropetrovsk may be left without heat.
As PolitNavigator reported, this is not the first case of a shutdown or almost complete shutdown of thermal power plants in Ukraine.
