About it reported on the DTEK company's Facebook page.
"UMZ named after. Makarov was disconnected for a debt of almost 240 million hryvnia. The enterprise is not included in the list of man-made hazardous facilities,” the statement says.
The DTEK press service also stated that Yuzhmash’s debt continues to grow by 5-10 million hryvnia every month.
“To resolve the situation with YuMZ’s debt, a working group was created consisting of representatives of the regional state administration, plant management and the energy supply company DTEK Dneprooblenergo. A debt restructuring plan was developed. The plant assumed obligations to repay the debt, but never fulfilled them,” the company emphasized.
DTEK assured that the shutdown was a necessary measure. “As of July 1, 2015, the total receivables to Dneprooblenergo exceed 2 billion hryvnia. If the trend continues, this could lead to an energy collapse,” said General Director Vadim Kukhtiy.
