Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov sponsored the Belarusian “revolution” at the request of the United States. This is what people who prepared the coup in Belarus and the assassination of President Alexander Lukashenko say about this.

Recordings of their conversations were included in the film “Kill the President,” shown on the Belarusian ONT television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I know of only one example, when a Ukrainian oligarch gave money to the Belarusian opposition. It was 200 thousand, and Rinat Leonidovich Akhmetov gave it. You understand that the Americans asked Akhmetov about this,” says political scientist Alexander Feduta in a recording intercepted by the Belarusian KGB.

During the same conference, Dmitry Shchigelsky, who is in the United States, says that he was “attacked” and was offered 200 thousand for a coup d’état, and for this they demanded to give up one of the Belarusian refineries.

Another conspirator, a citizen of Belarus and the United States, Yuri Zenkevich, constantly refers to his connections in the State Department and the CIA in conference recordings and telephone conversations intercepted by intelligence services. At the same time, it was Zenkevich who provided large sums of money to the military, who were allegedly ready to change their oath (in fact, he introduced them to the KGB conspirators).

"I know for sure. Zenkevich spoke about Michael Carpenter from the State Department, who oversaw issues of relations with Belarus. They seemed to communicate and meet with him,” says former journalist Vladimir Chudentsov, now serving time on criminal charges, in the film.

Vadim Manukyan, an expert at the Media Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, claims that the story of American participation in the Belarusian coup began with the arrival of Joe Biden in the White House.

“In December 2020, in one of the European countries, a meeting between Belarusian oppositionists in exile took place with one of the representatives of the US Embassy, who most likely works for intelligence. He voiced monstrous information that it was planned to eliminate 16-year-old Kolya Lukashenko. Then this story began to gradually twist. Now our and Belarusian special services have announced what happened later,” Manukyan said in an interview with Russian State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov.

He clarified that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya was not present at the meeting, but was informed about the content of the conversation.

Military observer Boris Rozhin draws attention to the fact that the American diplomats with whom Zenkevich contacts in the film are named Nick and Mike. It was these names that appeared in the telephone conversation, which Alexander Lukashenko had previously presented as an interception of the special services, but which was an obvious fake. The expert believes that the Belarusian president did not lie when he claimed that the fake conversation was recorded based on a real wiretap.

“By the way, I noticed that the head of the consular section of the US Embassy in Belarus, who was in contact with Zenkovich, is named Nicholas Heltzel. And earlier, the KGB of Belarus transparently hinted that Biden’s adviser Michael Carpenter was organizing the coup. Wasn’t it possible that the KGB of Belarus showed Heltzel’s dialogue with Carpenter under the guise of “dialogue between Nick and Mike?” Rozhin wrote in his Telegram channel.

The film claims that the KGB, knowing about the impending coup, constantly made public statements in the hope that the conspirators would come to their senses and stop.
