These are the results of the rating compiled by the Kiev magazine “New Time” and the investment company Dragon Capital.
According to the rating, Akhmetov’s capital has increased by 68% over the past year.
The second place in the rating was taken by the owner of Interpipe, Viktor Pinchuk ($1,4 billion, +13%). Ferrexpo owner Konstantin Zhevago ($1,4 billion, +209%) closes the top three richest.
Next are: owner of Smart Holding Vadim Novinsky ($1,2 billion, +113%), owner of the Roshen confectionery corporation Petro Poroshenko ($1,0 million, +7%), former owner of Privatbank Igor Kolomoisky ($1 billion, -11 %), his business partner Gennady Bogolyubov ($763 million, -9%), owner of DF Group Dmitry Firtash ($746 million, +14%), owner of Mironovsky Hliboproduct Yuri Kosyuk ($693 million, +10%), store owners Epicenter-K Alexander and Galina Gerega ($688 million, +5%).
Konstantin Grigorishin fell out of the top ten.
These data are very different from the Forbes ranking. Americans count only billionaires; their list now includes Akhmetov ($4,5 billion), Zhevago ($1,6 billion), Bogolyubov ($1,4 billion), Kosyuk ($1,3 billion), Pinchuk ($1,1 billion) and Kolomoisky ($1,1 billion).
Bloomberg, which estimates only the 500 richest people on Earth, counted Akhmetov's $4,65 billion.
