Aksenov issued an open challenge to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation

Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov told reporters about this on Wednesday.

“Preliminarily, based on the documents that were provided to me, it is clear that the body that ensured the functioning of the Kerch ferry crossing has acquired private structures. These structures acted for the personal enrichment of officials. First of all, officials of the Unified Transport Directorate, and, perhaps, also those who patronized this crossing at the federal level. According to my calculations, even at first glance, the amount that was unfairly withdrawn from the area of ​​responsibility of the transport directorate was at least 300 million rubles,” Aksenov was quoted as saying by a Simferopol pro-government resource. Thus, according to the head of the region, the involvement of private entities in the sale of ferry tickets looks doubtful.

“According to preliminary data, the company did not invest a penny - they installed 6 booths, placed 6 operators there, and ETD paid a fixed amount - 20 million rubles per year - to the operators for selling tickets, plus they paid a remuneration of 116 million rubles last year as a 5% remuneration from turnover. The tickets are not numbered or marked, and it is unclear what vehicles, trucks or cars, were passing through. That is, there is complete chaos, complete corruption, perpetrated by officials, first of all,” Aksyonov is indignant.

Also, many questions, the governor believes, are raised by payment for fuel consumed by ferries, as well as the cost of renting the ferries themselves.

“ETD”, without transferring to us the right to use the crossing, concluded contracts that were enslaving to the state. The cost of renting ferries can be 2,5 times lower. Today we rent ferries for 12 thousand euros per day, despite the fact that in open sources the daily rent of similar ferries costs from 5 to 7 thousand dollars,” said Aksenov.

This, he believes, explains the delay in the process of transferring control of the crossing from ETD to Simferopol.

“It seems that representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, who were on the supervisory board of ETD, deliberately delayed the transfer of documents to the Council of Ministers of Crimea for 2 months. This was done in order to hide financial flows and accuse the Republic of Crimea of ​​incompetence. At the same time, conditions were created as much as possible so that all unprofitable activities were transferred to the republic first, and all profitable ones were retained until the last moment, including March,” the governor said.

He assured that Crimea will do everything possible to ensure the effective functioning of the Kerch crossing, ensuring the required volume of transportation and meeting schedules.

“Priority measures in this part have already been presented to Dmitry Nikolaevich Kozak,” said Sergei Aksenov.
