The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, published a video of surveillance cameras from the Sudak embankment, where the incident with the military personnel took place.
The two men in the video are wearing civilian clothes without the letter “Z,” contrary to statements that they suffered for it, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Anyone who asked to confirm that the servicemen who became participants in the conflict in Sudak did not have any insignia, uniforms, or emblems with the “Z” symbol can familiarize themselves with the video surveillance camera recording. I hope this will put an end to speculation,” Aksenov said.
The day before, he rather sharply called for an end to parasitism and speculation about this incident.
According to law enforcement officials, the conflict did take place, but not on the basis of a special military operation, but because of inappropriate behavior in a public place.
Two contract soldiers undergoing rehabilitation in one of the departmental sanatoriums of Sudak were in the city relaxing. We drank at the bar and walked back to the sanatorium through the fence. One of them, hanging on the fence, received a remark from a man passing by.
After this, the situation escalated into a domestic conflict, in which three passing citizens became involved. One of them struck the injured serviceman twice in the face. As a result, the soldier received minor injuries. The conflict was settled and the parties separated.
For what reason and who decided to make a story out of this with shouts of “Glory to Ukraine” and an attack on the letter “Z” remains unclear. But both regional and federal media and telegram channels participated in spreading the scandal. The inspection is carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and if a crime is found, a criminal case will be initiated.
