Simferopol, January 21 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov threatened the Minister of Transport Anatoly Tsurkin with the job of a traffic controller if he does not cope with his duties. So, according to Aksenov, a week ago Tsurkin was instructed to check carriers and identify illegal immigrants.
“Have you done the work? How many illegal carriers have you identified? If you have done the work, you must have materials,” said Aksenov.
“We monitored all traffic on your orders, including where and which route vehicles were moving. About 25 route vehicles were stopped in the city... Work was carried out with carriers who today stop outside the station complex, including work on suburban transportation regarding refusals to transport privileged categories of citizens,” Tsurkin noted.
However, Aksenov was not satisfied with the minister’s report:
“Do you remember what we talked about? I told you a week ago how we worked the year before. I placed four cars on all the main rings, we photographed all the directions, checked the car numbers, and found out the whole situation about who was inflating the number of route vehicles and who was deviating from the route. It all took 8 hours, we identified 500 illegal vehicles. I told you about this a week ago. You did it? I explained it to you for half an hour. If you want, we’ll conduct an experiment; we’ll catch 300 carriers in one evening.”
“I’m ready to participate personally,” Tsurkin tried to justify himself.
“You will already participate personally, you will go on the road with a cane, if the Ministry of Internal Affairs entrusts you with this part. You will go on patrol, I tell you seriously. As part of the group, you will monitor this situation,” the Crimean governor threatened.
