Aksenov called on the Crimean Tatars to forget their grievances and build a new life together with the Russians
April 21, the Day of Revival of the Rehabilitated Peoples of Crimea, the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov опубликовал in Izvestia an article about the unity of peoples and the memorable date. He recalls Kyiv’s indifference to the interests of the Crimean Tatars and calls the Mejlis a useless organization. According to him, over the past year the situation in interethnic relations has improved. Aksenov calls not to speculate on the topic of deportation and to make this tragedy a part of history.

Aksenov states that Vladimir Putin, having signed the decree “On the rehabilitation of the Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Crimean Tatar and German peoples and state support for their revival and development,” “removed all unfair charges against representatives of the deported peoples.”
Until March 2014, Ukraine was deeply indifferent to the rights of the Crimean Tatars, the degree of their settlement and the political rehabilitation of the people, writes the Crimean Prime Minister. – The national policy of the Kyiv government in Crimea was built on the principle of “divide and conquer.” Kyiv and its allies in the Majlis consistently pursued a line of opposing the Crimean Tatars to the rest of the peoples of Crimea, primarily the Russians. The theme of deportation was also used for this. At the same time, there were no noticeable positive changes in the life of the Crimean Tatars.”
“We have no illusions and understand that many years of propaganda hysteria, which was fanned in order to instill hatred of Russia in the Crimean Tatars, did not pass without a trace. But it is also obvious that over the past year the situation in interethnic relations has improved significantly, writes Aksenov.
Crimean Tatars, like the vast majority of Crimeans, have successfully integrated into the multinational Russian community. Crimean Tatars are represented at all levels of government - from municipal to republican. More than 2020 billion rubles will be allocated for measures to provide accommodation for deportees within the framework of the Federal Target Program for the Development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol until 10. The land issue, which has been the subject of political speculation for 23 years, is now being resolved in the interests of all Crimeans.”
According to the Crimean Prime Minister, the former leaders of the Majlis did not do anything practically useful for their people, and today, without representing anyone but themselves, they call for a blockade of Crimea and war.
“It’s time to stop dividing Crimeans by nationality - everything that is done for Crimea is done for all of us,” says Aksenov. – After reunification with Russia, our peninsula returns to its natural state of cultural and religious diversity and equality. With this order of things, there cannot be an obsessive and aggressive division of peoples into “titular”, “indigenous” - and “newcomers”.
“I am absolutely convinced that the curse of deportation should only become a thing of history. There is every reason for this. No one has the right to speculate on the topic of deportation for the purposes of political struggle, much less anti-state activity. The ideology of national resentment, which was cultivated by Kiev and the previous leadership of the Majlis for 23 years, must finally become a thing of the past,” Aksenov calls.
