Aksenov reported sad news for Crimeans

Starting truck traffic on the Crimean Bridge will not help reduce prices for food and medicine.

The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, stated this on air on Crimea 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, opening the bridge for heavy trucks is only speeding up the delivery of goods, and not making it cheaper.

“Trucks are the delivery of goods without additional services at ports, without reloading, loading, or transportation. Those. Accordingly, globally this will not affect the cost of goods. I mean, the cost of food and medicines,” said Aksenov.

And according to Crimean journalist Oleg Kryuchkov, delivery to the peninsula has become much cheaper, so prices should still fall.

“The round-trip ferry costs thirty-nine thousand, plus downtime, storm and business travel allowances. The price should fall, if you count it straight, however, it looks good on paper. There is practically no cargo from Crimea to the mainland; they return empty...
Quote: “Contracts will fall, it will be more profitable for us to drive on the mainland. These are ravines that should not be forgotten. I hope someone has already thought about this,” Kryuchkov said on his blog.

This is partly confirmed by the ex-Minister of Transport of the Republic Anatoly Tsurkin.

“For three months, we scrupulously monitored prices in many directions for the delivery of all types of cargo to/from Crimea. I don’t have such optimistic forecasts related to the reduction in the cost of logistics; I can say more that in some areas there will even be an increase in prices,” says the ex-minister.

And the head of the Crimean Sea Ports, Alexey Volkov, noted in his blog that due to the opening of freight traffic on the bridge, the Kerch ferry crossing was left without work.

“As of today, for the first time in more than 4 years, ferries have been left without work due to weather conditions. The port of Crimea - port Kavkaz, the port of Kerch - port Kavkaz stopped without trucks (previously, from May 16, cars left for the bridge). On the line Fishing Port of Kerch - Port Kavkaz there are ferries for transporting dangerous goods with a small load,” Volkov noted.

Let us remind you that the movement of trucks weighing over 3,5 tons launched today at 00 o'clock.

"Reedus" reported that in the first eight hours more than 700 trucks drove across the Crimean Bridge.
