Back in 2014, the Crimean leadership was going to be taken to Kyiv in the trunk of a car.
Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov announced this on the air of Solovyov LIVE, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We didn’t find out about this today, they essentially tried to do this from the first day of the All-Crimean referendum. During the formation of the first session of the Supreme Council, they discussed at their closed meeting in Kyiv how to bring us there in the trunk. And there were people who took on this matter, gave a week, they would do it all. This must be taken seriously, of course. We live in the real world. Anything can happen,” Konstantinov said.
According to him, the Crimean leadership was not intimidated by this.
“We are involved in the security of Crimea, and this is not the first attempt at sabotage. Why they need this is also clear - this is a PR company of clowns, showmen, who, in general, build their entire strategy and policy on some kind of performance, and a necessary part of this performance should be some kind of high-profile murders or terrorist attacks that they can spin up to the level of some kind of success, victory. They live by it.
Therefore, in this sense, no one can relax anywhere in Russia, not only in Crimea. You need to do your job during a special operation, complete it in the form and for the purposes that were outlined from the very beginning, but understand that anything can be expected from such people. From the first day we knew this, probably better than anyone in the Russian Federation. Thank God that now everyone already understands who we are dealing with,” said the head of the State Council.
Later, on air on the Zvezda TV channel, the head of parliament added that he learned about the impending attempt on his life from the relevant service and was grateful that the work was being carried out at a good, effective level.
“Since 2014, they have not given up trying to do some nasty things in Crimea, because a strong, prosperous, successful Crimea seems to be like an eyesore for them. This is a very bad example for those territories that are new today and understand that they will be the same as Crimea, just like those territories that will be new. And this will be unambiguous, and they also know this very well,” concluded Konstantinov.
