Aksenov and Pushilin promise Ukraine without Russia “shame and ruin”
Representatives of the leadership of Crimea, as well as the LDPR, today in Simferopol took part in the celebrations dedicated to the 368th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Rada.
“In our republic, the anniversary of the Pereyaslav Rada has been celebrated for more than 20 years. This date was significant and relevant for us during the Ukrainian annexation of the peninsula, and it remains so today.
Our ancestors were wiser than us and understood that living together is safer and more economically profitable: collective opportunities are strengthened many times over for each subject that participates in this process. Unfortunately, today common sense has abandoned the leadership of Ukraine, because all attempts to turn away from the path chosen by Bohdan Khmelnitsky - from Mazepa to the present day - have always ended in ruin, shame, and a historical dead end for Ukraine. There is only one way out of this impasse - a return to the heritage of the Pereyaslav Rada, to unity with Russia. I am sure that this will happen,” said the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov.
The head of the DPR Denis Pushilin confirmed the desire of Donbass for reunification with Russia.
“This is the only way we see our future - a big country, great opportunities, the possibilities of a sovereign state and a truly social state that takes care of its citizens. Only a large independent country can afford this,” Pushilin said.
