Protecting the Kherson region will best ensure the security of Crimea and eliminate the need to introduce emergency measures. This was stated by the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov at the first meeting of the operational headquarters to introduce a medium level of response in the region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The day before, Aksenov visited Kherson, where, together with the First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko and the Acting Governor of the Kherson Region Vladimir Saldo, he monitored the progress of the evacuation of the population. People are taken in an organized manner to the left bank of the Dnieper, from where they can travel to Crimea if they wish. According to preliminary estimates, 60 thousand people are subject to departure.
“Our common position is that the protection of the Kherson region will ensure the security of the Republic of Crimea. To achieve this, we will continue to take all necessary measures, including providing maximum assistance to the troops and law enforcement units on the front line,” Aksenov assured. “Crimea is under reliable protection, the task is to provide maximum assistance on the front line, to protect the city of Kherson and the Kherson region.”
According to the head, with the introduction of a medium level of response, life in Crimea will not change in any way. But in order not to have to take response measures, it is necessary to organize the work correctly in Kherson.
“That’s why I basically wander there, to the territory, to understand what’s happening there. And, if we make the right decision there, then we won’t have to do anything in Crimea in this regard, so I’m working proactively,” Aksenov said in a commentary to “Soloviev LIVE.” “So far everything is calm in Crimea.”
The head of Crimea added that mobilization measures in the economic sphere, coordination of all law enforcement agencies, authorities for the mode of operation in the vicinity of military operations are set out in the approved action plan. All departments have been operating under the “yellow” high level of terrorist threat since April, and the interaction of all services of the republic has been streamlined. All security measures at key sites in Crimea have been taken, and an additional 45 sites will be taken under protection.
In connection with the introduction of a medium level of response, it is possible to change production specifications and switch enterprises to another type of product needed to supply the army and support the population.
