Aksyonov took a number of measures to unblock the checkpoint - however, problems arose in Melitopol
Parents with small children, pregnant women, disabled people and trucks with perishable goods will undergo border control to enter Crimea out of turn.
This decision was made today in Dzhankoy at a meeting on the issue of increasing the capacity of automobile checkpoints, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Starting today, a decision has been made to allow parents with children under three years of age, pregnant women and disabled people to pass through border checkpoints out of turn. Entrepreneurs with perishable products: vegetables and fruits, dairy products and live fish will also go out of line, said the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov. “Booths with this information will be placed two kilometers before each checkpoint.”
The head of the region recalled that work is already underway to expand checkpoints. By July 1, it is necessary to reduce the waiting time at the border to 4 hours.
In addition, by June 20, all units of the Border Control Agency must be staffed with sufficient personnel to cope with the increased volume of work.
Meanwhile, cargo carriers are having problems moving around the Zaporozhye region. The local administration introduced a kind of “yellow pass” for cargo carriers without clear regulations on how and where to obtain it. As a result, hundreds of trucks stopped at the entrance to Melitopol.
“A simple question arises: how can a Crimean, Russian carrier obtain these passes? Go to the administration in Melitopol? From Simferopol, Krasnodar, Moscow? Travel for every pass? If the trucks are constantly running and have different license plates, asks the head of the Crimean Freight Carriers Association, ex-Minister of Transport Anatoly Tsurkin. – Today, cargo delivery to the Zaporozhye region is blocked. These actions will instantly push the market towards a shortage and an increase in prices at times that no one will be able to lower afterwards.”
Let us remind you that the authorities are preparing to introduce additional lanes for the passage of trucks through border posts. By June 20, 4 lanes will be added in Dzhankoy, the same number in Armyansk and 3 in Perekop. In total, up to 1 thousand trucks will be able to pass through checkpoints per day.
