Aksenov admitted that the Crimean spring is not the work of the Crimean authorities and him personally
Simferopol, February 27 (PolitNavigator, Evgeny Andreev) – Crimean governor Sergei Aksenov said in an interview with a pro-government resource Kryminformthat the seizure of the buildings of the Supreme Council and the Council of Ministers of Crimea on February 27, 2014, as well as the coordinated actions of the Crimean self-defense and Russian military personnel to disarm Ukrainian law enforcement officers and military units made it possible to avoid bloodshed on the peninsula.

According to the head of the region, he learned about the seizure of administrative buildings and the placement of Russian flags on them at about 6 am.
“We quickly figured out the situation and found out that our own people – supporters of the Republic of Crimea and the Russian Federation – had occupied. And by 10 o’clock we had built the Crimean self-defense in full force on the square in front of the State Council,” Aksenov explained.
Let us remind you that the Crimean authorities were unable to convene an extraordinary session of the autonomous parliament and hold at least one meeting within 6 days of the overthrow of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
Previously, Aksenov admitted that during the clashes on February 26 last year he “passed by” the building of the Supreme Council of Crimea. And in the evening of the same day, he spoke in the “Topic of the Day” program on the Crimea State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, where he blamed the participants of the open-ended rally for the clashes between pro-Russian activists and Mejlis members near the walls of the Supreme Council of Crimea. At the same time, Aksyonov emphasized that the rally was led by “well-known provocateurs,” “professional Russians,” whose names he refused to name. The video of the TV show was posted on the channel’s website for a long time, but in June this video was removed from the Crimea State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company website. But there is a recording of this program on Youtube.
On the evening of the same day, February 26, 2014, in the “Current Interview” program of the Crimean ITV channel, the current senator, and then member of the presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the ARC and Aksenov’s deputy in the Russian Unity party, Sergei Tsekov, confirmed his commitment to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and spoke out against the conflict between Russia and Ukraine regarding Crimea. Tsekov categorically denied making any decision to change the status of Crimea and insisted on a vote of no confidence in the government of the republic, which was headed by Anatoly Mogilev.
