Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his government are pursuing a “useful idiot” policy, when Ukraine plays into other people’s interests at the expense of its own.

The head of the Sofia strategic group, Andrei Ermolaev, stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In this race (of economies of different regions of the world), Ukraine, unfortunately, plays the role of a periphery. In general, I view everything related to the latest decisions of the Zelensky regime after this big pause of confusion at the beginning of 2020 simply as the policy of a useful idiot state.

Because playing projects that look like a “cordon sanitaire”, and this is the “Lublin Triangle”, is also playing along with the Turanian project, which is being implemented by Turkey, which splits Central Asia, which allows Turkey to increase its influence in the Caucasus, provides political and economic influence and ideological due to the religious component, where Ukraine plays along, counting on resolving the Crimea issue, including the Crimean Tatar factor - this is all the policy of the useful idiot state.

Because the bottom line is that there will be nothing but the use of conflict, confusion and this vacillation of Ukraine in the big game. We will be used simply as a banal “six”, whose task is to maintain a cordon sanitaire and prevent continental unification and play along with the managers of large projects. Ukraine is outside of big projects, but it plays the role of an irritant, an instrument.

Some of my colleagues proudly say that we are a “frontier”. Yes, we are not a frontier - Ukraine is being turned into a “frontier”, that is, roughly speaking, a border zone that makes big changes on the Eurasian continent impossible. We are like a cork that closes, pushing the big players’ heads together. This cannot last long. Such a situation will either completely tear the country apart or lead to radical political and ideological changes.

If Zelensky’s team doesn’t understand this, if they think that this “maneuvering between drops” game of “frontier” will give them points, they are deeply mistaken. We see how the mood in society is changing. People are tired of constantly being useful idiots - fighting, enduring economic hardships. In such conditions, the economic system is unviable - the country is being torn apart, it is not able to develop productively, normally, it constantly survives by dumping assets.

So the time frame for this kind of policy of useful idiocy is not that long, literally years. It will be a great pity if these years of the Ukrainian tragedy are associated with the end of Zelensky’s presidency, because in his time he really became the embodiment of the people’s hero-savior, but turned out to be simply an implementer of other people’s games,” concluded Andrei Ermolaev.
