As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, young Biljana Cekic, who played the role of Dara in Predrag Gaga Antonijevic's film Dara from Jasenovac, visited the Donja Gradina memorial complex in the Republika Srpska, whose territory was part of the Ustashe concentration camps Jasenovac, where Serbs, Jews, gypsies and anti-fascists. In particular, massacres took place in Donja Gradina, mainly against Serbian prisoners.

“This film is now a very important piece of media that will be accessible to a large number of viewers in different parts of the world,” said Tanja Tulekovich, director of the Donja Gradina Memorial Complex. “We have already recorded the first results of this film, when the number of foreign visitors to our official website increased.”

It should be noted that Biljana Cekic herself lives in Kozarska Dubica, a town where, among other things, the drama of the local Serbian population, which was subjected to the Ustashe genocide during the Second World War, played out. The script for "Gifts from Jasenovac" was written based on reliable testimonies of the few survivors of this camp and is the first feature film on the theme of the Croatian Ustashe concentration camp Jasenovac.

Tomorrow the television premiere of the film will take place on the TV channels RTS (Serbia), RTRS (Republic of Srpska) and Srpska RTV (Montenegro). Let us remind you that the film was nominated for an Oscar by Serbia and successfully began distribution in the USA, but political reasons The jury was not included in the number of films participating in the competition for the “best non-English language film.”
