Albanians beat up Kosovo Serb over car number plate
A twenty-year-old resident of the Serbian enclave of Gracanica in central Kosovo, who was driving a car with his girlfriend, was attacked by three Albanians.
The motive for the attack was most likely the Serbian license plates on the victim’s car.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, a twenty-year-old resident of the Serbian enclave of Gracanica was beaten on the road between Dobrotin and Donja Gushterica. The guy was attacked by three Albanians who were driving a black BMW with women.
“They overtook me and suddenly braked in front of me. I thought that they needed help or needed to show the way, I opened the window, and when this Albanian came up to me, he was shaking. I asked him: “What happened, fellow countryman, what are the problems?”, after which he hit me on the head with all his might, and I lost consciousness,” the victim said.
When he came to his senses, he saw that two more men were standing at his window and trying to hit him. However, the two girls who were with them dragged the attackers back into the car to continue their journey. The young Serb noted that the car the attackers were driving had Pristina license plates. He estimated the driver of the car to be in his 40s and the other two men to be in their 25s.
“I went to the police to give a statement, they interrogated me for about two hours. After that, I went to the Health Center for an examination and was referred to surgery. There they found injuries in my head, one bone in the back was broken,” said the young Serb.
At the same time, he assumes that the Albanians reacted to the Serbian license plates of his car, which was the reason for the attack.
“This is further evidence that anti-Serbian rhetoric from Pristina leads to frequent attacks on the Serbian people in Kosovo and incites interethnic hatred and intolerance, in contrast to Belgrade’s efforts to build peaceful coexistence in these territories,” the Office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Serbian government.
