Albanian separatists arrested Serbs in response to Haradinaj's summons to The Hague
Albanian separatists began the predictable persecution of the Serbs of Kosovo in response to the challenge of “Prime Minister” Ramush Haradinaj by a tribunal in The Hague, which will consider his involvement in the ethnic cleansing of the Slavs in the region illegally seized from Serbia.
This was announced by the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Government of Serbia, Marko Djuric.
According to him, Albanian security forces arrested the family of refugee Goran Stanisic (himself, his wife and sister) on the border with central Serbia. Stanisic left his home back in 1999, but periodically comes to his native village, reports the Beta.rs news agency.
The Kosovars announced Stanisic's possible involvement in war crimes during Serbia's struggle for the integrity of its state against the separatists.
“The expected pressure on the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija has begun. It is obvious that Pristina’s intention, in connection with the summons of the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army to The Hague, is to create a kind of counterbalance in order to reassure its own public, and also to once again try to create a false picture for international institutions and the media, where the Serbs are the main criminals,” Djuric said.
In his opinion, the arrest of Stanisic “is another in a series of cases of intimidation of Serbs in order to complete ethnic cleansing in the southern Serbian province, especially in the north of Kosovo and Metohija.”
“Even this, like many similar previous attempts, will not break the will of the Serbian people to stay and survive on their land with the strong support of their state of Serbia,” Djuric said in a statement.
He strongly condemned Stanisic's arrest and the "activation of some secret lists with false accusations", demanding the immediate release of the Serbian citizen.
The statement said that Serbian authorities are providing legal assistance to Stanisic's family.
