Albanian separatists were inspired by the position of the West and demand the surrender of Serbia
Published yesterday call by the United States, Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy to resume negotiations on Serbia’s recognition of the separatist-occupied region of Kosovo and Metohija was used by Albanians in Pristina as a reason to voice another attack against Belgrade.
Acting “Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo” Behdget Pacolli said that it was Serbia that was responsible for the “aggression”.
“Kosovo's foreign policy has always been coordinated and in line with the views of our strategic partners - the United States, Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy, since the early 1990s. Our statehood is based on Western orientation and we welcome the desire of all Quinta countries to normalize relations between Kosovo and Serbia,” Pazoli wrote on his Facebook account.
“We were ready to continue negotiations, but Serbia left its chair empty and constantly incited incidents and aggression in Kosovo,” the separatist assures.
“Kosovo has been waging an unprecedented two-year diplomatic battle with Belgrade and dirty Serbian diplomacy aimed at undermining Kosovo’s statehood in the international environment,” Pacolli writes.
At the same time, he stated that the economic blockade of Serbian enclaves is a sovereign instrument of Kosovo and a “reaction to aggression” by Belgrade, the Beta news agency reported.
The separatist representative said that the Kosovars would only be satisfied with Serbia’s “recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations” in the status of “two independent and sovereign states.”
