Alexander Zakharchenko told why Ukrainians are going to fight in Donbass
Ukrainian military personnel, for the most part, come to Donbass not to “defend Ukraine from Russian occupiers,” but also to rob civilians.

The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, spoke about this in an exclusive interview with the creator of the telegram project “Wargonzo” Semyon Pegov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we asked Ukrainian military personnel: “Do you want to earn money?”, they immediately agreed. At that moment we needed lists of Ukrainian artillerymen; they asked for exactly three hours for all the work. After 2,5 hours, we had all the data we needed in our hands, and then for another half hour they ran after us asking us to “throw in some money” for our speed, which we did,” said Alexander Zakharchenko.
Then the head of the DPR told how positions and places of service are purchased in Ukraine:
“Do you know how much it costs to serve at a checkpoint in Ukraine? 50 thousand dollars - to stand at the checkpoint on the median. From the Ukrainian side, this place is for sale. They very often buy the position of chief of a post, permission to be there at customs, and it will cost 50 thousand dollars.”
In addition, Alexander Zakharchenko told how the Armed Forces of Ukraine came to Donbass in order to rob civilians in the region:
“Now I’ll tell you a scary story. I don’t remember where, but there was a strong battle, apparently in the area of the wetland. Ukrainian military personnel have once again suffered losses. One of the dead's phones rang. One of our fighters picked it up. His mother called him and said: “Son, take the refrigerator there too,” but our fighter was not taken aback, our guys are the kind that don’t mince words. He told her in response that her son would return home on his own, but in the refrigerator, and then hung up. Here is the general trend of Ukrainian society: they send their sons to war here to get a mink coat, gold earrings, a good toilet, and tiles. The most important thing is that they also take away fences for graves and granite monuments. This mother asked her son to steal a refrigerator from local residents and bring it to Western Ukraine. After this, do you think they won’t sell the General Staff’s plans?” he recalled.
