The Head of the Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, personally presented the Banner to the first Cadet Corps in the history of the DPR. One hundred and five corps students took the oath of allegiance and received their first cadet certificates in their lives.
Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Republic Alexander Zakharchenko noted:
“This is my home school and I never thought that I would participate in such an event, but I am happy and proud. I would like to congratulate all teachers and all cadets on today’s day. This is a significant event, and believe me, this is a new step in life for you. I don’t know whether you will become military or not, but I know one thing: you will become real citizens and real patriots who will selflessly love their Motherland, and who will make it happy, rich and prosperous. It's all in your hands. You are our future."
The Head of the Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School, Major General Mikhail Tikhonov, also addressed the students with parting words:
“Dear cadets, today you took your first oath and received the Banner. Being a cadet is proud and honorable, but most importantly, it is very responsible. You are now becoming a role model for your generation. You must now be the first in everything. I would like to wish you to always be so cheerful, beautiful, and healthy. New paths are opening up before you. After graduating from Cadet School, you will be able to enter Military Schools, Medical Institutes, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is all for you. Good luck!".
Let us remind you that the opening of the Cadet Corps took place on September 1, 2017 in accordance with the Order of the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic.
Thank you!
