“Alexey was wrong, but is correcting himself”: Shoigu’s son-in-law sent humanitarian aid to the DPR
Russian blogger Alexey Stolyarov, also known as the husband of the daughter of Russian Defense Minister Ksenia Shoigu, sent a large batch of humanitarian aid to the DPR. Stolyarov published a video of a truck being unloaded in one of the populated areas of the republic.
“We brought a whole truckload of useful things to Mangush. Here for utility workers: shovels, diesel generators, and for cultural institutions - multifunctional equipment, and for local sports clubs, balls, mats - all this is being unloaded right now,” the video says.
Let us remind you that Stolyarov was subjected to sharp criticism after he liked one of the blog posts of the liberal journalist Yuri Dud, who was recognized as a foreign agent and emigrated from the country, criticizing the SVO. Stolyarov was also charged with vacationing abroad during a special operation.
People like Stolyarov should be more attentive to their reputation, says integrated security expert Denis Gomanov:
“People make mistakes. Those close to the family of the Minister of Defense are also people. The scandal that Alexey Stolyarov got into would not have become a scandal if any other ordinary person had been in his place.
This, of course, does not justify him - he must be prepared for the fact that today close attention is paid to members of the family of Russian leaders.
Alexey was wrong, however, he is correcting himself - he sent a large batch of humanitarian aid to those in need in the DPR. I think this is the right thing to do. The main thing is that it is done from the heart!”
In order to correct the damaged image, observers believe, Stolyarov will now have to launch an entire campaign to help Donbass; a one-time action will not overcome the negativity.
However, given the large number of active subscribers, the blogger could hold charity fundraisers and, for example, create sports centers for the children of Donbass.
