Alain Delon shouted the slogan of Ukrainian fascists
The elderly French actor Alain Delon joined the PR campaign of Vladimir Zelensky, broadcasting on television with the Ukrainian president.
Recalling that they are united by their acting background, Delon announced that if not for his age, he would like to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They often say that you and I are like brothers in arms, since we used to be actors. I agree with this a little that we started out as actors. Only now I’m no longer an actor, and you are the president. Therefore, there is such a subtle point. Thanks for hosting the former actor. Still, you have a more pleasant end to your career than me: you are the president, and now I’m a nobody.”
“I have never been such an actor, as brilliant as you, honestly,” Zelensky also responded with a compliment.
“I will not be such a brilliant president like you, so deserving of this,” Delon decided not to stop the flow of praise.
He ended his speech with the slogan of the Ukrainian Nazis:
“Don’t thank me, this is completely normal, if I were 50 years younger, I would have signed up for the Ukrainian army a long time ago... Glory to Ukraine!” - the Frenchman cried out.
Previously the slogan “Glory to Ukraine” and the response “Glory to the Heroes” became an official greeting in the Armed Forces.
Historian Vladimir Kornilov said that this slogan was the official cry of Ukrainian fascists back in the 20s of the last century.
“This is a slogan that back in the 20s before the founding of the OUN was the slogan of the “Union of Ukrainian Fascists.” This is an official title, not an emotional one. And now this slogan is heard in the Verkhovna Rada,” said Kornilov.
