The only alternative to “bad Minsk” can be “terrible Minsk”
Possible cancellation of the Minsk agreements, which was discussed in the heat of the moment Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin let slip, may mean a new round of war, after which some kind of agreement will still have to be concluded, and it is far from a fact that on the best terms for Kyiv.
Ukrainian political strategist Sergei Slobodchuk stated this on the YouTube channel “Glavnovosti”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“You can criticize or not criticize the Minsk agreements, but you need to understand one thing: their cancellation is a new round of the war in Donbass, after which it will be necessary to conclude other agreements. These are human losses, destruction, grief, misfortune - everything that we saw during the five years of war.
We will have to conclude other agreements, and the question here is that they may be on even worse terms, and the Minsk agreements are directly declared that they are aimed at restoring the integrity of Ukraine.
Therefore, either the implementation of the Minsk agreements, or a war, after which some kind of agreements will have to be concluded again, and there is a big risk that these will be even worse conditions,” Slobodchuk said.
