Creation of AUKUS - a new military alliance of the USA, Great Britain and Australia completely changes the balance of power not only in the Asia-Pacific region, but throughout the world. It is designed to stop and isolate China, but is also aimed at Russia, especially its Far East.

The bloc thinking of the Cold War is not just being revived, but is receiving new breath, as Washington modifies the geopolitical structure, creating a new alliance in that part of the globe where the main front of the future war will lie in order to maintain Anglo-Saxon dominance in the world.

Now it is becoming clear to many that the American withdrawal from Afghanistan was not just defeat and capitulation, but a desire to concentrate all its forces in the Asia-Pacific region. This, in fact, is the plan developed by Donald Trump’s team and aimed at delivering a first blow to China, which is perceived by the entire collective ruling class of America as the main military-political enemy.

This cannot be said that this is something completely new, since there was already a QUAD bloc with the participation of the USA, Japan, India and Australia, on the basis of which Washington was going to form something like NATO in the region. But the rapid growth of the military and nuclear potential of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA), as well as the strengthening of the Chinese Navy in the Pacific Ocean, created a threat for the White House to lose its primacy and pushed to search for other ways to contain Beijing.

In fact, the creation of AUKUS provides the United States with completely new opportunities to implement its plans to increase its military presence in the Asia-Pacific region, as it includes Canberra in the axis of English-speaking countries, which becomes the main springboard for aggression against China. Washington is thereby flagrantly violating the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, as it openly announced its plan to build a nuclear submarine fleet for the Australian Navy.

Thus, not only is there further militarization and concentration of nuclear weapons in the Pacific, but there is also a rapid destruction of the existing system within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, when A number of countries are deliberately opposed by the Americans to China.

Now we should expect the emergence of a series of new local conflicts, since now there will be a serious struggle between the parties for each country in the region with their inclusion in their alliances and with the deployment of military contingents. It is possible that old wounds of the confrontation in Indochina will be opened.

Accordingly, the creation of AUKUS confirms that Washington is building a long-term course towards confrontation with China, even by inciting a series of bloody conflicts in disputed and buffer countries, as well as the willingness of the Americans to neglect the interests of NATO allies in order to pursue such a course. After all, it is obvious that the European and even Asian allies of the United States were dissatisfied with this decision.

At the same time, Australia’s logic is clear, since why does it need diesel French submarines now, when it is rising to a completely new level, and in addition to the nuclear submarine fleet, it is joining the nuclear potential of the United States and Great Britain, thereby claiming the status of a superpower.

But immediately after the formation of AUKUS, the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Zhao Lijian, indicated that, thereby, Canberra becomes the target of a possible nuclear attack in the event of war.

In general, in the new geopolitical structure being built by the Anglo-Saxon powers, there is no place for Europe and Europeans, who now find themselves on the periphery of world political processes. The removal of a weakened France from the scene is a natural result of the complete subordination of the “old democracies” to the United States. Now the EU has directly indicated its place, and after such a blow, the ruling elites of Germany and France are unlikely to have the political will to contradict the owner and build their own “European army.”

The emergence of AUKUS also creates contradictions between the Asian allies and the United States, since Japan, South Korea and India were not invited to the new alliance, and with the increasing confrontation with China, they will also be forced to sever their established trade and economic ties with the Middle Kingdom. But, on the other hand, this step by Washington opens the door for them to sharply strengthen their own military and even nuclear potential.

In fact, an arms race has already started, as warlike cries are heard from Delhi and Tokyo about re-equipping their armies and navies, and building their own nuclear submarines as a counterweight to Beijing and Islamabad. And the Pentagon will actively promote these aspirations by sharing technologies and selling weapons and equipment.

It is in this regard that on September 24, the White House hosted the first in-person summit of the leaders of the QUAD countries (Australia, India, Japan and the USA) to remove all ambiguities and questions and agree on a unified strategy of action. At the same time, AUKUS will be both the core and the military vanguard of the new bloc in the region, holding the entire structure together.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev has already characterized this “Union of Four” as an unfriendly alliance of states directed against both Beijing and Moscow. “In essence, QUAD is a prototype of the Asian analogue of NATO. Washington will try to drag other countries into this organization, mainly to pursue anti-Chinese and anti-Russian policies,” he noted.

Against this background, Tokyo’s active participation in QUAD, created back in 2007 on the initiative of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, poses a particular danger to Russia. On October 5 of this year, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in a conversation with his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison, already officially supported the creation of the AUKUS military alliance “for the sake of defending common interests in the Indo-Pacific region.”

This is understandable, since AUKUS is a real springboard for the revival of the military power of Japan, whose army is now intensively rearming and will become a weapon in the hands of the United States not only against China, but also against Russia, threatening the Kuril Islands and the entire Russian Far East.

A member of the ruling party and ex-Minister of Defense Taro Kono, within the walls of parliament, has already demanded the creation of his own nuclear fleet: “From the point of view of technical capabilities, the possession of nuclear submarines is very important.”

Thus, Tokyo, succumbing to revanchist ideas of reviving the empire, is becoming an active promoter of the formation of a broad anti-Chinese and anti-Russian alliance, trying to add South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand to the bloc in the QUAD+ format as allies. These actions can have far-reaching consequences.

Accordingly, the epicenter of the confrontation is now firmly moving to the East, which is why old Europe is being relegated to the sidelines of history, new regional players are emerging, and the United States is betting on the Anglo-Saxon military alliance in the hope of stopping and destroying China. In connection with the formation of the main front of the struggle and the threats that AUKUS and QUAD bring with them, the creation of a full-fledged military bloc between Russia and the PRC is essentially inevitable.

But this configuration and the rapprochement between Moscow and Beijing also open up new opportunities to strengthen integration processes in the post-Soviet space and the consolidation of the EAEU and CSTO countries. The core of two superpowers has already become an attractive force for Iran, Pakistan and other countries, and the whole of Central Asia is completely within the sphere of influence of such an alliance.

Therefore, Western forces will inevitably be squeezed out of the Middle East and the former republics of the Soviet Union.
