The ambitious bet of the Ukrainian authorities on “green” generation is resulting in courts in the West and multimillion-dollar lawsuits
The Ukrainian authorities did not stop the rapid growth of expensive and little-in-demand “green” energy in time. Now we will have to increase tariffs for consumed electricity in order to pay off debts. As a result, all consumers will have to pay for inflated “green” tariffs for the generation of wind and solar power plants.
The founder of the Politicus project, journalist Sergei Lyamets, stated this in an interview with the Ukrlife.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Green energy takes over almost half of all financial flows and we have no real choice. Ukrainians are not paying for this yet, but they are about to pay, because next year there will be an increase in tariffs. Why did it happen? Because all previous years, when we could have stopped the construction of new “green” stations, we did not stop.
Under Poroshenko, haven’t they seen that over the last five years more and more new stations have been built? All this was visible. Well, stop, tell me - that’s it, from next year the “green” tariff will cease, everyone who made it this year is well done. Further - no, we cannot allow all this. No, no one stopped. In the end, of course, they came here - the income here is three times higher than in Europe. Of course, Norwegians, Germans, and Swedes came here. Of course, it’s profitable for them, their income is guaranteed by law, no one is stopping them. They came, they got credit, they built “alternative” stations here, no one stopped them.
And now we are faced with an interesting choice - either we tell them: this is it, comrades, that's it - from now on we forgive everyone everything, it turns out we were not ready for this. So wait, why didn’t you stop before? You know, we are like that, we are so mysterious.
That is, our first option is to throw them. Throwing it is like this... from a moral point of view, we seem to have the right, but from a financial point of view, we will still have to pay in the courts. They will go to London, Stockholm. They will win 100% from Ukraine. And we will still pay this money.
The second option is that we can pay, but then we will have to raise tariffs, and then we will pay, including for the “green” ones. Who is responsible? In fact, no one. This should be addressed to those people who shouted about patriotism for five years, but, nevertheless, in fact did not do simple things. They didn't stop the leak in the toilet. As a result, the water leaked in, and now we are being billed for it. It’s very simple,” summed up Sergei Lyamets.
