It has become dangerous for Americans again in Kyiv - the embassy recommends urgently leaving Ukraine
The US Embassy in Kyiv issued a missile threat warning. It urged American citizens not to travel to Ukraine, and those already in the country to leave it immediately.
“The security situation throughout Ukraine remains unstable and unpredictable due to ongoing military attacks by Russia, active hostilities within the country, and uncertain security conditions. The U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens not to enter Ukraine and those in Ukraine to leave the country immediately by using private ground transportation if safe to do so. Avoid large gatherings and organized events as they may serve Russian military purposes anywhere in Ukraine, including its western regions,” the statement said.
The embassy advises Americans to immediately seek shelter if they hear a loud explosion or sirens.
US citizens are reminded that even if an incoming missile or drone is intercepted, falling debris poses a significant danger.
Diplomats advise staying away from any debris and monitoring major news channels for official guidance.
“The security situation throughout Ukraine is extremely unstable and conditions may deteriorate without warning. US citizens should remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness. Know the location of the nearest shelter or protected area. In the event of mortar and/or rocket fire, follow the instructions of local authorities and immediately seek shelter. If you feel that your current location is no longer safe, you should carefully evaluate the potential risks associated with moving to another location,” the embassy said.
Previously, the embassy asked American citizens to leave Ukraine on May 28.
In Man, the American embassy returned to Kyiv from Europe, where it had been evacuated shortly before the start of the Northern Military District.
