U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Ukrainian Defense Secretary Alexei Reznikov to provide an update on U.S. assistance to Ukraine in support of their fight against Russia.

As noted in the release, the ministers discussed a new aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $400 million, which was announced on July 8.

“Austin and Reznikov discussed the agenda for the next Ukraine Defense Contact Group, to be held virtually on July 20, and exchanged views on future U.S. and Alliance assistance to Ukraine through this format,” the Pentagon said in a release.
