The President of the American University in Moscow, Eduard Lozansky, writes about this in Izvestia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Having publicly insulted the Russian leader, allowing himself to do something that no US president had done before, even in the most difficult times of the confrontation with the USSR, Biden violated all diplomatic canons, destroyed the chances of improving relations between the two leading nuclear superpowers for the next four years and brought these closer relations are close to the red line,” notes Lozansky.
He believes that now “Russia and the United States are already at war in the political, economic and information space,” and warns that the most important thing is to prevent crossing the military Rubicon.
“Therefore, it is necessary to maintain close contacts, primarily between the Pentagon and the Russian Ministry of Defense, to prevent incidents that could escalate into a direct armed conflict,” the political scientist writes.
Since a summit at the presidential level is now practically excluded, the expert continues, it is necessary to maintain contacts at the level of various state, regional and municipal structures and civil society.
At the same time, there are millions of reasonable citizens in America who understand the dangers of the current situation, and dialogue with them is absolutely necessary. Fortunately, new technologies make this dialogue quite easy. “In conclusion, since there is no expectation of an apology from President Biden, I would like to join those Americans who decided to do this for him, apologizing to the President and all citizens of Russia, expressing regret in connection with this unpleasant incident,” Lozansky concludes.

After that Moscow recalled her ambassador from Washington.
