The United States officially handed over a military field expeditionary hospital worth $7,6 million to the Ukrainian government.

Colonel Carol Northrup, military attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine, presented the hospital on behalf of the US government at a ceremony in Zhitomir. He was received on behalf of the Government of Ukraine by Colonel Andrey Verba, Director of the Military Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Deputy Chairman of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration Yaroslav Laguta.
Known in the US as EMEDS (Expeditionary Medical Support System), this military field hospital is a lightweight, compact intensive care facility. It can be used to treat casualties, stabilize patients, and prepare casualties for transfer to medical facilities. The hospital also provides primary health care, dental services and general medical protection services.
The hospital has a capacity of 30 doctors and paramedics. Three thousand military personnel can receive medical care there. The hospital consists of four tents, can be deployed within 24 hours and can operate autonomously in difficult conditions without supplies for up to 10 days.
The US military will spend a month teaching Ukrainian colleagues how to effectively use the hospital.
