The Americans caught Zelensky's team cheating and demanded an answer
The American lobbying company Signal Group Consulting, LLC published a report on the work it performed in the interests of Vladimir Zelensky.
This was reported by the Voice of America, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The work was carried out between April 3 and May 21. According to documents provided to the US Department of Justice, the company received a fee of 60 thousand dollars for its services and reimbursement of expenses in the amount of 9,371 thousand dollars. The services were provided between the first and second rounds of the Ukrainian presidential elections, although Vladimir Zelensky's team categorically denied the existence of such a contract.
Nevertheless, the contract existed. The agreement under registration number 6661 was signed on April 3, 2019. The parties to the contract are Signal Group Consulting, LLC and “Vladimir Zelensky – Servant of the People, through the mediation of Marcus Cohen.” The purpose of the agreement: to raise the “image” of Vladimir Zelensky – the Servant of the People.
Activities included organizing a public relations and government relations program, introducing a foreign client to US media, organizing media interviews, meetings with think tank representatives and experts, and providing strategic advice on US media and government relations.
It is noteworthy that the meeting of Zelensky’s representatives with American lobbyists took place on April 17, and on the same day an objection from Zelensky’s team appeared.
In the expense appendix, Americans reported on dinner at one of the Washington restaurants, considerable expenses on a taxi and a limousine, and the last line was “the consultants were not too lazy to include the cost of a cup of coffee at the Sofitel hotel for $7,60.”
Voice of America posed the following questions to the President of Ukraine:
– Did Vladimir Zelensky, directly or indirectly, hire Signal Group Consulting for PR and organizing meetings in the United States for delegations from Ukraine?
– Who participated in the delegation and what was the purpose of the visit to the USA?
– Who paid for the contract?
“Given that the Office of the President of Ukraine declares its openness, which “distinguishes them from the old political elites,” we hope to hear answers to these questions,” notes the American publication. – In April, commenting on the message about the involvement of lobbyists in the United States, “Team Zelensky” not only denied the involvement of “lobbying companies or agencies,” but also emphasized that, unlike representatives of the old political forces, it does not conduct “undercover agreements.”
