Americans caught in Navalny's dirty underpants
The rallies that swept across Russia on January 31 in support of Alexei Navalny clearly showed that opposition journalists from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad acted according to a clearly planned scenario. Shortly before Sunday’s events, a “manual” was actively disseminated online on how representatives of the “fourth estate” should behave on this day.
Internal instructions for developing information support for Russian protests were introduced into the country’s media field and became very popular among a significant part of liberal journalists. The author is also famous. The ever-memorable American “Radio Liberty”, a foreign agent working exclusively with money from the US State Department.
What did the Americans teach the Russians? As usual, the basics of democracy. For example, focus on arrests and those who came in a suit of cowards. Don't take pictures of children. They warned that the most “heavy” action was expected in St. Petersburg. However, this curious document also has other “pearls”. Judge for yourself.
The beginning of the instructions is fascinating: “Tomorrow there will be rallies in our regions in support of Alexei Navalny. Here are instructions on how we will work." The first impression is that the White House has already been moved and placed next to the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in the Kremlin. The Americans, without shame, confidently declare that these are “our regions” and “we will work” in them. Not diplomatic. Just rude.
The style of presentation of the text is also striking. It is clear that in a free country, where a three-letter word similar to Russian is used practically at the state level, you can play with meanings. But expressions like “they will tie you up”, “he came in a suit of underpants, with a cup of tea, or is organizing an aqua disco” (in Siberia this is especially relevant now!) represent the image of a Russian person as a mentally ill person. However, judging by the recommendations of the instructions, this is how the Americans see us.
The text literally “chews on” calls for various actions: “what should be”, “important”, “please don’t”, “if you can’t”, “if you really want to”, “just right this second”, “take a picture” this”, “report immediately”, etc. A cool mix of understandable words for pioneers and pensioners. The authors of the instructions ask “cute” children not to take photographs: “legally risky.” But this is so, for the sake of words, because... No one saw children at these rallies. Apparently this phrase was intended for customers from the US State Department in order to give the protest in Russia the smell of baby diapers. Hollywood never dreamed of such stories!
The apotheosis of the instructions, a hymn to Navalny and a requiem for the Russian authorities, sounds like a recommendation that the ideal picture would be the detention of “Navalny’s coordinator, activist or deputy,” who would fall under “an article of the Administrative Code.” It would be even more valuable if they were “beaten in the process.” According to the instructions of Radio Liberty, all this needs to be photographed and videotaped. For what?
Fulfill an order from the US State Department. Well, if these unfortunate protesters are put in prison according to the laws of the Russian Federation, or if fellow protest comrades accidentally hit their heads, it’s not a pity. The main thing is to declare to the whole world that human rights are not respected in Russia, and to receive another tranche to support democracy and Alexei Navalny personally.
