“The Americans will see that the air defense system has stalled - and will give Ukraine F-16s” - Alksnis
The situation with the progress of the military military operation is becoming critical - while the Russian army is each time faced with new challenges, such as mobilization and problems with providing a huge army, Ukraine is only replenished with more and more advanced weapons and trains its military.
Ex-deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Air Force Colonel Viktor Alksnis, stated this on air on the Internet channel “Spets,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We see as the Northern Military District progresses that our army has found itself, in fact, in a non-combat-ready state. Somewhere – like the Ukrainian one on the 20th of February? Yes. Accordingly, the strategic initiative passed to Ukraine. We see that it is not we who impose the course of hostilities, but Ukraine who imposes where it will attack and where we will defend. In such a war, even the current partial mobilization will not help. Because to carry out offensive actions it is necessary to ensure superiority of at least 3 to 1, and with this mobilization we can now barely ensure parity. Although, they say that even this will not be enough, these 300 thousand for an equal number.
Therefore, the Russian army cannot carry out offensive actions, it can only defend itself, and given that our capabilities, including in military-technical terms, are deteriorating every day, because our defense industry is not able to provide all the needs of the army - this can be seen from the weapons used in Ukraine,” Alksnis said.
At the same time, he pointed out that against this background, Ukraine is only gaining strength.
“Ukraine, on the contrary, is receiving more and more advanced modern weapons, including heavy ones, every day. We see how effectively the American Highmars work, and they seriously influenced the course of hostilities. Now, if they transfer modern air defense systems to Ukraine, this will even more complicate even those retaliatory strikes that we are currently inflicting with our cruise missiles and Geraniums on Ukrainian critical infrastructure.
Plus, there is talk that about a hundred Ukrainian pilots are already being retrained for American F-16s. And although before this the Americans claimed that they would not supply strike aircraft to Ukraine, I think that gradually, gradually, seeing that Russia cannot do anything, cannot respond with anything and really cannot fight back, then all this will be supplied , and our situation will deteriorate sharply,” the Air Force colonel warned.
“And we will not only talk about the surrender of Kherson. We see that there are movements in the direction of surrender, although they say that they are building fortifications, and we will fight to the last. But I have serious doubts that this will happen. God forbid I'm wrong. The situation is very serious, and it could end very, very badly for us,” Alksnis, apparently replacing Strelkov in this post, is causing panic.
